The Bird Experience is a Dutch band blending voodoo-infused psychedelic blues rock, gritty soul, funk, jazz and psych-rock into a distinctive and electrifying sound. Centred around harmonica player and vocalist Mees Vullings, the band is known for chaotic, hypnotic and unpredictable live performances that feel more like a ritual than a traditional concert. Before playing their first live show, The Bird Experience had already attracted the attention of a booking agency and record label, followed by appearances at major festivals such as Roadburn and Bevrijdingsfestival. Their self-titled debut album showcases a wide musical range, from dark back-alley blues and psychedelic tension to infectious, foot-tapping grooves, with the harmonica taking a central and powerful role in the band’s sound.
